Shoes Really Do Make the Outfit – An Afternoon with Founder & Creative Director Kamica Hampton

Guest article by Kari Schoeffler, stylist and owner of photo and video production house DEEPFOTO.

I had the distinct honor and tremendous pleasure to collaborate with Jeremy Pierson on a project for the phenomenal Kamica Hampton! Kamica is the Founder and Creative Director of Kamica Hampton footwear. As a stylist and model mentor, I love the opportunity to work with such talented professionals and to be surrounded by the best new fashions in the market. When I think of quality and luxury, Kamica’s stunning collection of women’s shoe wear immediately comes to mind. From her trendsetting styles to quality materials to her bold accents, each pair of shoes truly is a work of art. As a stylist, I love a great shoe and know the shoe's power to not just transform an outfit, but to empower a woman! Check out a few of the images of her jaw-dropping collection.  She and I both agree that a great pair of shoes really can make an outfit all come together!

Kamica showcased her collection at the Ladies Who Brunch Pop-Up shopping experience on Saturday April 7th. The event was held at the IMT Uptown Post Oak and I was lucky to have a front row seat to this stellar event! As an entrepreneur of a woman-owned business, DEEPFOTO, I was especially thrilled to be in a room with some of Houston’s best and brightest business owners, boutiques, and beautiful fashion lines. The Ladies Who Brunch event brought together sophisticated, stylish and savvy women from the Houston area for a private shopping experience. In addition to a day of fun, the sponsors, vendors and guests had the chance for networking, education and interactive workshops. Ladies Who Brunch - Galleria was hosted by Eye Candi AestheticsKlearly Kristen and The CAM Agency.

In addition to Kamica’s presentation on her collection and some helpful tips on Do’s and Don’ts for show lovers, the event had some other wonderful speakers. The event’s emcee was The Sessions Talk Show Host Chantel Moncriffe. The Key Note Address was given by Tess Tims, the author of the best selling books the 3C’s System, who discussed the Power of Commitment. The vendor list included some of Houston’s most fabulous entrepreneurs, boutiques, chefs, aestheticians and massage therapists. The event was a great success.

I love attending fashion-focused events like these because the event attendees are always so stylish. It’s like a non-stop fashion show! It truly is awe-inspiring to be in a room with such well-dressed women (and men) in one room. These events are where I get fantastic ideas for new fashion-inspired projects for Jeremy and I to collaborate on portraiture, advertising and creative projects. I always leave a Kamica Hampton show, or a pop-up event like Ladies Who Brunch, with so many new creative ideas and concepts.

Jeremy and I hope you enjoy a few of the behind the scenes images from the show.
